Asian College welcomes the students for the Joint Delivery Voucher Program (JDVP) training, spearheaded by Mr. Jansen Mueco, SHS Principal together with the chef instructor and trainer Mrs. Chona Sorensen and Mr. Uriel Niño Opada, both an expert in the field of Food and Beverages Services and proud instructors of Asian College. JDVP is a strategy initiated by the Department of Education to help senior high school students enrolled in Technical Vocational Livelihood (TVL) track gain relevant industry or workplace exposure. Senior high school students enrolled in public schools avail of vouchers so they may take their TVL specializations at Asian College, Dumaguete Campus.

Looking back, it was a month ago when Asian College visited the four partner schools, namely, Crisostomo O. Retes National High School of Tampi, San Jose; Ajong National High School of Ajong, Sibulan; Froilan A. Alanano Memorial High School of Dauin; and Dahile Provincial Community High School of Mabinay, Negros Oriental for the initial JDVP orientation. The onsite training kicks off on February 21, 2022. During their first day, the students were given insights on the training, and orientation and demo were conducted by their trainers. 

In preparation for the knowledge and skills needed for the subject, students’ activities are as follows: 

  • Familiarization of Table Appointments
  • Learning of the basic Napkin Folds
  • Learning about the basic Table Skirting
  • Learning about Table Setting
  • Learning about Table Service for Fining Dining
  • Learning about Room Service
  • Learning about How to Handle Guest Concern / Providing Good Guest Experience

The completion of the training will be on March 28, 2022. Following the training will be their assessment which will take place in Asian College being a TESDA accredited institution and assessment center for different qualifications including the Food and Beverages Services.
