Asian College, Dumaguete, opened its doors once again to eight partner schools for the Joint Delivery Voucher Program (JDVP) training for Public Technical Vocational Livelihood (TVL) Senior High School students. As previously noted, the Department of Education developed the JDVP as a plan of action to assist senior high school students enrolled in the TVL track in gaining appropriate occupational or industry exposure.
The team visited Pulangbato National High School, Valencia National High School, Buntod High School, Dauin National High School, Mabinay National High School, Mabato National High School, Tayasan National High School, and Demetrio Alviola National High School, gathering 201 recipients for the JDVP training.
The orientation for the following training: Computer Systems Servicing (CSS), Housekeeping (HSKP), and Food and Beverage Services (FBS) was led by professionals from Asian College, Ms. Lee Vivas, Ms. Shaireena Tiana, and Chef Instructor and Trainer Ms. Chona Sorensen. The initiative was led by Mr. Jansen Mueco, SHS Principal, and Ms. Nicole Apao, SHS Coordinator, with the assistance of our cherished campus administrator, Ms. Melody C. Prado, and with the marketing team’s special involvement. Parents and students both attended the orientation. The history and available programs of the institution were briefly introduced. The trainers also provided some insights on the training, expectations, and outfits. Afterward, there was a public forum where questions and clarifications from the students’ parents could be addressed.
The students had the chance to receive first-rate instruction in their chosen skill, which they can utilize in the future, and it was undoubtedly a terrific opportunity. On June 8, 2023, the training will be finished. Following the training, they will be assessed, which will also take place at Asian College, an accredited institution and assessment center authorized by TESDA.
