Asian College, Dumaguete campus celebrates Industrial Week with the theme: “Encouraging productive growth through Industry Competition amidst the Pandemic”.

The event was participated by the three college departments of Asian College, namely, the College of Business Administration (CBA), the College of Computer Studies and Engineering (CCSE), and the College of Tourism and Hospitality Management (CTHM). The departments held their opening day independently. Each department presents different activities and competitions for students to participate, establish teamwork, and motivate and promote development and learning while having fun.

The College of Business Administration opens its first day by inviting Mr. Bryan Bulgado, a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Accountancy, a proud alumnus of Asian College for a Testimonial Speech. An Elevator Pitch and Marketing Jingle were organized on the third day. And an “Online Stock Market Investing Seminar” was given by Ms. Janice Macapagal, the Head of BPI Trade’s Client Acquisition, Marketing, and Client Servicing Department on the fifth day. The CBA’s Industrial Week concluded with an awarding ceremony.

The College of Computer Studies and Engineering celebrated Industrial Week by having diverse competitions, starting with the Typing Test Competition on the first day. CCSE Doodle Design Competition and Photography Competition on the second day. Website Designing Competition on the third day. Website Mockup Competition and Valorant Game on the fourth day. And a Fellowship and Awarding on the fifth day to wrap up the event.

The College of Tourism and Hospitality Management kicks off its celebration by having a Tour Guiding Competition for Local and International destinations followed by an inspirational message from Mrs. Lirna Vie Perdue, Sales Execute of Dakak Park & Properties. On the second day, a Mixology, Flairtending, and Suite Room Decorating Contest were arranged. They also invited Mr. Angelo Salvoro, Instructor of Bartending, Barista, and Food and Beverage Service at Teamskills School for Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management, and Assessor for Barista and Food & Beverage Services to talk about “Effective Business Planning: How to lead in the Business World”. A Table Set-up Competition and Tour Negros Oriental Competition was organized on the third day alongside a seminar about “How to be Competitive in 2022” from Ms. Marilou Pidor, College Instructor of the CTHM department at Asian College, and Assessor for Front Office, Events Management, Housekeeping, Bread and Pastry, and Food and Beverages Services. The Cake Decorating Contest and National and International Cook-Off Challenge completed the event on the fourth day. A back-to-back discussion from Mr. Johnray Quitoy, Compliance Program Officer of the Foundation University TVL Program about “Mastering Guest Communication in the Hospitality Industry” and Mr. Kenneth Tilos, CEO of One G Valencia and Dumaguete City Branch about “Importance of Hard and Soft Skills in the Hospitality Industry” concluded the day. And the awarding ceremony was set out on the fifth day.

It was indeed a fruitful week for each college department. A week full of exciting activities and moments to remember for all the students. And looking forward to a face-to-face Industrial Week celebration in the future.
